Also they are used to being snuggled in the womb and are now alone in a wide open space so it can be scary for them. This is why many people find swaddling their arms in helpful - stops their startle reflex from waking them up. Unfortunately my son hates being swaddled and likes sleeping arms wide.

She could also have gas or be working on a poo if her legs are kicking. Play around with different arrangements- swaddle, bicycle pump her legs to help with gas, etc - you may find a solution, or it may be a phase, or she may just be a fidgety baby! We now put our boy to bed in a sleep sack and he seems more comfortably.

Try baby mits or little socks on her hands. This helps calm my boy when he's fidgety. Where did you find newborn sleep sack???? My boy also hates arms in we just been putting him in a long sleeve onesie and socks with polyester sleeper and hand mits. I got hand me downs from my sister but they are halo sleep sacks months, they are long on him but work. They have them at babies r us at least they do online. Niysmom Original poster. I was getting nervous there. Im also lacking lots of sleep at this point and really didnt know what to do. My little girl is the same! She is hungry she fidgets, she is bored she fidgets, at night often she sleeps and fidgets she will often go back to sleep on her own. It feels like it her only way of communicating right now.
