Where to get torches in dalaran

So basically the Achievement isn't bugged, but the item itself is. It used to work though. But the restriction for the Achievement works fine. Loth needs to apply the fix directly on the live realm :. Skip to content. Star New issue. Jump to bottom. Labels General - Achievements. Milestone Apply only on Liv General - Achievements. Linked pull requests. Copy link. Fly to the strip of land outside of Dalaran it's right next to Krasus Landing. Fly as high as possible but not at a height where you will fall to death.

Point your camera straight down, and have your cursor right where you will land. Unmount, and while in air, spam the juggling torches. When you hit land, keep juggling. The counter starts when you catch your first torch as opposed to when you throw it. By doing this, you will have extra torches in the air at the start compared to doing it normally.

Comment by I used this method and got the achievement with no problem. Using the method of hotkeying the torches and looking at my feet, I used 2 hotkeys instead of 1.

I didn't think this would work at first, but got it accomplished on the first go with 3 seconds to spare. And don't worry about the no fly zone, once you've completed your achievement just approach the landing site and you'll be able to mount up. Comment by Amdoravel the best way i found to complete this achievement was to make a script and macro Comment by Scotia Super annoying, but able to be done without macros Bought 10 torches, hotkeyed the torch, and smacked the hotkey with one finger while rapid fire tapping the mouse button with a finger on my other hand.

Don't hold the mouse. Hover your hand over it. Poster above who said what's important is not how many torches you can launch, but how quickly you can bring up the green targeting circle is correct. I spent more focus on rapidly tapping the mouse button than I did the hotkey, and I made it just under the wire. Did this in the Dalaran underground near Cantrips and Crows. Comment by To me this quest is about lag. I did the keybinding and the mouse click spam but never got above Someone said to fly to one of the outlying floating islands and try it there to reduce the lag the city creates.

Did nothing different than fly to the island floating by the landing area and finished the quest on the first try. Comment by You don't really need to mess around with script changes and macros and all that stuff. Keybind the torches and alternate using and throwing.

You'll need to get a rhythm going and don't stop if you don't hit the achievement the first time. In fact, keeping them in the air when it reset should help. So, this is what I did. Track the achievement so you can gauge your speed.

One finger on keybind, one on mouse duh Start slow, use keybind 1 , then click with mouse 2 Start speeding up, but have a short delay after you click the mouse before using keybind again So instead of going 1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2, it's more like 1,2 - 1,2 - 1,2 - 1,2 - 1,2 Keep decreasing the pauses, and eventually you'll get it.

Then I created the macro rep about 10 times for my G1 and spammed that Was glorious after spending so long frustrating over mouse clicks and pressing 1. Completely worth skipping my dental appointment to figure out. Comment by alllucky7s I highly recommend using the Juggler addon, I did this first try at the mage shop in Dalaran were you can buy Dalaran Brilliance or whatever it's called, etc.

If lag is a problem, try doing it when everyone's out raiding or at Wintergrasp; and if you've done the Higher Learning achievement try using the teleport book.

Set your cursor in the ground below your character and spam the mousewheel up or down until you get the achievement. This is pretty much over kill but you will get it no matter what. Finally got this one This is what I did. Set my alarm clock for 4am, woke up logged into wow, so much less dal lag at that time.

Keep SPAMMING I had well over 40 torches before the timer expired and there were torches continually falling well after the timer went to 0 so if to do it this way, and dont get it the first time the 2nd time a bunch will proc right as the timer restarts. Good luck all. I was able to do it myself in no time.

This can be done - just finding the right combination of location in dalaran and either clicking or using the addon will help. Quick and easy! Comment by Confirmed "mage shop in Dalaran were you can buy Dalaran Brilliance or whatever it's called, etc. Works perfect. Comment by You can send these in the mail, so you don't have to buy a new set of em for your alts as long as you don't drop too many since they disappear.

Comment by You can trade the torches to friends, if they lack Burning Blossoms. Comment by Note: Unholy Presence Death Knights only reduces global cooldown of the torches by 0. I just got it about 5 minutes ago, fairly easy. Comment by I was able to complete last night around midnight.

This is what worked for me server response seems to be the biggest factor : Minimum 10 torches, 15 probably better Drop video settings to low Enable "Reduce input lag" on Resolution tab Fly to one of the islands outside Dal Bind torch to hotkey used 1 for convenience Run command to bind mouse click to key again, 0 felt comfortable.

Got it on the second round last night with this method. Comment by I believe this achievement has been hotfixed back to 20 seconds again at least on EU realms. I did it with 4 seconds to spare without using any trick or addon - which doesn't seem possible if the timer was still on 15 seconds.

Comment by shmeek It worked for me the old fashioned way Comment by Listen, normally I would never go for something like this, but Trust me. Comment by To complete Stormbound, add the following between steps two and three: - Teleport to Purple Parlor portal found in Violet Citadel across the Caverns of Time portal. Comment by headhurt I just completed this with the use of macros and some serious keyboard spamming. My fingers are achey, but I now have the title. Thanks for all the pointers.

Comment by shayneg Best way for me after having multiple failed attempts, is to be on a lap top and turn on the touch pad and use the buttons down there as you can just mash them wkd fast without moving ur mouse, got it on 2nd try after using the first one to get torches in the air b4 i started. Comment by I found going to the purple parlor and doing it on the balcony the best spot, with the least lag. Second tip make sure you click track on the achmnt so you can see the timer and how close your getting..

Third after you hotkey the torches spam your hotkey and click as fast as u can. If your getting close keep going went the timer runs out the ones in the air may count on the timer reset. I did it in 3 attemps in a row non stop. I still think this is the lamest achvmnt in the game.

Good Luck. Comment by An extra little trick that helps: Use a laptop with touchpad instead of a mouse. That way you can position your cursor, and then spam ahead without moving the mouse by accident.

Comment by XylanTrueheart I am having a weird problem. I have been trying to do this achievement on my Death Knight. I would hot key the throw and be exactly under the mouse circle but I am missing every torch and they land exploding.

I was able to do this successfully on all my other alts but my DK can't do it. Anyone have any ideas why he can't? Comment by after spending about 2 hours on this, I finally got it using my brother to spam the torch key and me spamming left mouse click. Comment by Gerdofal Another bit of advice. Don't try this during times with high pings, makes it a lot harder. Try for an overnight or early morning time on a weekday. Comment by wtf? I hot-keyed the torches and held my cursor under my character.

I lost all the torches cause they fell right in front of my character. Do I need to complete the torch juggling quest first? Cause I can't even go to the vendor and purchase torches. Comment by I did this down in the sewers I get 10 more fps down there with the Juggler addon, and it worked great.

I couldn't quite make it happen with ten torches for some reason, so I bought five more and did fine with fifteen. Comment by MintySinty After trying many times to do this achievement using all the aforementioned methods Traditional style with settings at lowest possible, away from as much lag as possible up on top of the ring above the Violet Citadel , even with Juggler, I still failed to get the achievement. I had 25 torches with me and I wasn't exactly running out Lo and behold I thought "Wait Worked like a charm.

Got it the first try after that. Though I couldn't help but think, what with the sideways hand motions stroking the Magic Mouse's smooth surface, that men must be far better at this stuff than I'll ever be. Comment by Cagesan Disable your add-ons except for Juggler! Comment by I tried this three times in a row using an alternating pattern between my keybind and my mouse, but what worked best for me in the end was just mashing both like crazy. Doing this, I got it on the first try.

To each his own, I guess, but I thought it was worth mentioning. Also, for the love of god, DON'T buy 40 torches! I stupidly assumed I would need that many. Wtf am I going to do with all these now? Comment by Just buy 15 if you want to earn if yourself.

Forget that 10 crap they tell you. Comment by SongCry This was my last achievement needed for the title, and I only had 3 blossoms left and it was the last day of the event.

Go on an alt and do the daily quests you can easily get up to 25 blossoms, and you can buy the torches and mail it to your main. Worked for me and I got the title, good luck to ya. However, went to do it today with the exact same torches since they're transferable and they all disappeared - my character didn't catch any, despite clicking on herself. Just wanted to give a heads up that they may have been changed in some way, whether it's that they don't work after the holiday anymore or who knows what.

Comment by kykuky Note that now the portals have been removed, there is almost no one in dalaran. So it will probably be easier now to juggle. Comment by kykuky Really easy to do also it doesn't have to be midsummer to get the achievement all you do is put the juggling torches on your main action bar like the 1 slot keep pressing 1 and click under your character and you will have the achievement fast.

And while it sounds like nothing, the achievments is a hell of a lot harder because of it, I'm just saying. EDIT: Looks like I'm either incredibly pro all of a sudden or they've fixed this overnight- Looks like it's possible to do again now.

Comment by IdTheDemon I sort of struggled with this. Then my friend told me about the Juggler add on. It just uses the mousescroll wheel to automatically toss them. Got the achievement easily with it. Comment by eluneaurora Given the trouble I had with the daily quest, I went ahead and bought I got this within the first try spamming my keys furiously. I used the tips above about the keybind and spam clicking and it was the least painful achievement I've done.

Perfect conditions. Comment by Back when this achieve came out it was unforgiving due to the lag in dalaran, but now that nobody goes there except lvls it should be easier. Even then it would never be as bad. Comment by helmates I find it sad that the only way to get this achi is to IMHO cheat with the addon.

I very much dislike achievements and quests that require the reflexes of year-old Nintendo junkies or air force fighter pilots. Blizzard loses my respect when they design such things in this way. Comment by This was surprisingly easy. Go sit on one of the spires of the Violet Citadel in Dalaran or wherever really, I guess. Have about 10 torches I bought Select a torch and put the green circle area right under you by clicking with your mouse.

The idea is to alternate your torch bound key with the mouse click as fast as you can. Keep the green circle in the same spot. Try to find a rhythm--it'll probably take a few tries. And remember to track the achieve so you can see your timer and torch number. Comment by I done this by myself using only 15 torches I just put the item on my action bar and clicked under my toon Comment by Smackdatazz If anyone is having problems as of 4.

Comment by If you're having trouble with this, it may be because you're using a wireless keyboard. I was and I couldn't get more than 22 in 15 seconds. So I plugged in a wired one and did it no problem. Comment by hordewins Get the "juggler" add-on from curse it is amazing! Comment by beefcake Thanks a lot for that post, after one missed try I did it for 11g with 20 torches Comment by Codyre Just did it with Here's a tip: Open your achievement window and click the torch juggler achievement so it shows you how many you have to go.

Have your torches keybound to number 1 or whatever. Throw one torch, targeting under your character. Watch the achievement monitor and count to twelve. When it's about to reset, begin spamming 1 and click. By doing it this way you'll have almost all ten in the air right as the timer starts, giving you that precious extra second or two. Hope it helps! Comment by Altho it may sound logical You dont catch them "faster" with more. Its NOT easy! It was MUCH more effective.

Still took a few tries, but keep glancing at your timer to see how it judges the rhythm of it. Dont stare at your timer tho, as you cant afford delays with this one! Best of luck to you! Comment by It's has all been said But the rhythm tip off has only been mentioned by several Getting the achieve without rhythm is why posters are saying this is super hard.

Here we go: You don't need an addon. You only need 10 torches. Bind torches to any key. I used one of my less-used keys 6 Stand on the spires of Violet Citadel.

Press the bound key, and then aim the mouse over your body for catching. Get into a rhythm slowly 6, left click to aim catch, 6, etc. Build it up to a fast comfortable speed. Do not spam click, button mash, etc. Now just focus on your fast rhythm. Keep it going. Faster as you get more comfortable. Now just go one notch faster than comfortable Boom achieve. I found that if I stared at the tracked achieve I couldn't keep my rhythm as well. I don't think you can catch torches without doing the prelim midsummer torch quests, at least a friend of mine couldn't.

Comment by CorneliousJD I'm having a terrible time doing this I have 35ms ping, home and world, and nothing is working. Comment by ta5k1n Buttonsmashing worked for me after trying 10 times. Latency : ms. Comment by pioneers14 You really don't need an add-on for this! This achievement actually isn't that bad. Get about 10 torches I think I had 11 - You really don't need any more than that. I put the torches in my 8 hot key and did a pattern between that key and my mouse.

Just put the mouse directly under you that way you don't have to move anywhere. I clicked in a pattern motion but you still have to do a bit of button mashing. It probably took me between tries before I got the achieve! Good Luck! Comment by Nitekitty I am finding this achievement to be extremely difficult.

For some reason, my computer refuses to accept that I downloaded Juggler, and as that's not working, I created macros and have been trying to complete this for almost two hours. Sometimes, I get to 36 before the timer restarts, and others I can only get to 15!

This might be the hardest achievement I've ever worked on! Comment by Nitekitty! It took me two hours, but HEY! I did it, and thats what counts, right? I don't think this is considered cheating, because the timer resets anyways, but what I did was get the amount of torches juggled as high as possible before the timer ran out, and then logged out. So when I started juggling torches again, it took a few moments to catch up and realize I was doing it again.

I kept track of if I was going to make it or not by when it got to 7 seconds, if I had 20 ore more, then I was going to come very close to 40, if not make it. Hope this helps : Good luck, you'll need it!

Comment by Damonra I couldn't do it using any of the macros or most of the advice listed here. One advice did help. The Juggler addon. Basically, it allows you to you your mouse's scroll button to get the achievement.

What the heck am I doing wrong? Comment by pugsplz I did this achievement on my first try last year by just binding the torches to one key and clicking underneath me rapidly, but no matter how hard I tried this year, I couldn't get it on one of my other characters this way.

I tried some of the macros listed here, and I tried having one person press my binding as I clicked. Nothing worked. Downloaded Juggler, got it easily my first try by scrolling my mousewheel back and forth. I suggest use install Juggler add-on. Comment by MoarHeroisms Since curse client was down for maintenance I tried the achievement this year without the addon. Got it on the second try by simply spamming the torch's keybind and the left mouse button simultaneously.

I think what gets most people is the attempt at maintaining a rhythm, when really it's all about how fast you can spam. Comment by sandyra If you've been pulling your hair out as I did, here is what you need to know: You CANNOT purchase these from the Midsummer vendor until after you've completed Torch Catching at which point you will receive 5 Juggling Torch as a quest reward and then be able to purchase more at the aforementioned vendor.

You CAN purchase these at the auction house you shouldn't have to pay more than 5g a piece. You CANNOT attempt this achievement unless you have completed Torch Catching - your torches will simply explode on the ground as if you weren't actually catching them.

If you want to save your Burning Blossom , do the quest, then purchase the balance of torches you need through the AH. You will need torches in your inventory depending on your lag in Dalaran I failed miserably with 10, but 15 did the trick for me. You need to juggle 40 torches for the achievement, but remember you catch the ones you throw up once they come back down, so you don't need to have 40 in your inventory - and you need to stand in one spot for this obviously. You will best achieve this by following all other post suggestions here and tossing the torches to yourself by targetting your feet - if you don't 'catch' your torches, they will be destroyed by exploding on the ground.

Add-ons are helpful, but not necessary. Catch the rest of your torches and hand 'em to a guildie or throw them on the AH. You will never be rich in wow gold if you are wasteful. What's next on the achieves list?

Comment by Well I am finding this impossible. There now seems to be a short cooldown while throwing the torches.

I have bound the torches to my 1 key and can spam it reasonably fast while clicking the mouse at my feet. The trouble is the cooldown. It is about half a second which means I can only get about torches in the air at once. I hit the 1 key to activate the reticule then click the mouse to throw the first torch then, because of the cooldown, I can hit the 1 key times before the reticule activates again.

I can see a sweep happening on the torch button indicating some sort of cooldown. If it is, for instance, a half second cooldown, then 40 torches in 15 seconds is impossible. I have managed this achievement on 3 other characters in previous years quite easily Spamming keys and mouse buttons really isn't much of an achievement anyway.

Comment by miniwidge Make sure you've completed the Torch catching quest in the major cities before you attempt to juggle in Dalaran.

They're like practice and if you haven't completed the quest first, you'll drop all the torches in Dalaran. Comment by Guys I found that assigning 3 buttons to do this achi was the best option.

After you got your achi you can delete the macros. Comment by Hennix Get the Addon juggler and look to it that you got many torches that you can buy for blossoms at hte midsummer quartermaster and then go to town very easy! I just changed mode, and spamming the button or you can use Autoclicker like another comment said i did in the first pass.

Thumbs up if this helped you. Comment by Tried putting the torches on my 1 key and spamming the mouse button - didn't work. Tried using the juggler add on and still couldn't get it. Then on a whim I drank a haste potion I had in my bags and was able to get it on the first try.

Don't know if that was the trick or what, but it worked for me. Hope that helps someone. Comment by Armistice I completed this without the Juggler Addon. Go into the Underbelly. Go to the Cirle of Wills. Go under the building, Loc- 59, There's a ledge on each side between rafters, jump up on there and you'll be really close to the ceiling. Make a torch a hotkey, target your feet, and spam. Got it on my second try. Comment by Eion I don't know what else to do!

I have tried everything everyone had mentioned and I can't get the torches past 22 in 15 secs. Need some help! Been trying for an hour now. So if your friends need the achievement, you both don't need to get the torches, you can just throw them at your friend and they'll find them in their inventory, similar to items like Heavy Leather Ball and Happy Fun Rock.

More Midsummer currency saved for other purposes! Also, this helps with completing the achievement a little, tried it with a friend of mine; If you know someone who has these torches, you can ask them to throw them at you while you're completing the achievement to get the 40 torches you need.

Obviously two people throwing them at you well result in more torches caught, as I don't think there's a limit for how many torches you can catch at once. Comment by mewmewface went to dalaran forgot to buy torch. Comment by Kazzo For the ones who fail with it. Make sure you got 15 torches in total. You get 5 from the quest.

You can buy 10 of them for 10 Burning Blossoms. Simply set it on a comfortable keybind and keep pressing it and clicking the left mouse button. Make sure you target under yourself. Now you DON'T need the stupid 3rd party thing. Comment by So guys, I've been trying to do this achievement for almost a week now, and i kept failing.

So I came here to read your comments, and I saw lots of people posting about add on called Juggler, and I gotta say, it's the best thing for this achievement. Srsly, I did it in first try when i downloaded it.

It's really awesome and it works great. Comment by Ooglepants this may have been said already, but I tried many times and finally found out that this worked for me: I have nothing else to compare it to, although i will try on some other characters.

I tried many times with 10 torches, but when I had 12, it worked on the first try. I just spammed 1 the torches on my bar and mouse clicked just below my characters feet. That's it. No addon, no rhythm, no tricks. Comment by So i have tried to read up on tips and tricks, and so far nothing. I dont want to use an addon, because for me that would take the fun out of achivement. My problem is that i constatly get that the item is not ready, but still i cant manage to get more that maybe 20 on the counter.

If i do it slower and dont get that message I get even less. Even tried with different amount of torches, but the result is the same every time. I have the tourches keybinded and use the mouse to click under me, taking turns. What is going wrong? Comment by wowhead I read all the entries for this quest and thought, damn this is gonna be difficult. I died So I can't get to my body to rez so I had to go back to the spirit to rez.

So I have rez sickness and can't try again I bined a key to the torch 15 of em and alternated pressing the key and clicking the target under me Comment by Atem Dear Wowhead comunity, I know it may sound stupid I kept reading the forums to find out a solution but I couldnt find the reason why I could not get this achievement done!

Then I realized that it is very possible that the weel of my mouse was probably too slow for such an achievement, I tried fixing weel speed but it did not work either. So instead I just rushed to my bro's room since he was away and stole his mouse: Tadaa! Achievement done in one shot! Comment by zerezam 4. I tried with 21 and 15 and it caused the error "Item not ready" which screwed up some other mechanic native to wow interface which didn't allow me to cast another torch.

The spot that worked for me was staring down at my character along a wall that was next to violet citadel in Dalaran. This tweaks your GCD just slightly, making it more feasible for your next torch to cast without the GCD still in effect.

After one cycle, I had 10 torches in the air, none of that "Item not ready" error spamming my screen and easily achieved it. I've never had to do so much indirect tinkering in order to get an achievement, ever.

Comment by brendonintendo So I'm gonna clear something up for you guys really quick. It seems like it would be logical, but I guess some people just don't realize it. Many people are saying you should buy 15 or more torches. This simply isn't true. Cause here's the thing, it doesn't matter how many you have, you can only throw about 8 or 9 up in the air at a time, since with 10 I always had at least 1 or 2 left in my backpack even when i was peaking with my throws.

So just trust me when i say, you dont need any more than What I found was with a single stack of 15 torches being spammed into the air, the game seems to cancel a good portion of my torch throws due to the caught torches re-stacking before a new torch could be thrown. I got mine my first try after breaking them into smaller stacks, so give it a shot- It might work for you too! Comment by Azgaryth Fudge! I can't get over I have 15 torches and spam 1 and my mouse.

So gay! Comment by Tried all the non-Juggler tips to no avail. Split the torches into stacks of 5 and used Juggler. Instant success. Comment by Wireless mouse vs wired. Only was able to get about 24 on the wireless, very rarely and randomly, hit 38 or Wired mouse, done in first try. Something to consider.

Comment by Tyvm Thonster! That trick in the sewers really did it. I only got like 30 torches the other places in Dalaran, but in the sewers i got the achievement just after a few tries. Comment by Tilz After spending all of the festival trying to get this achievement. The last day I decide to screw the spamming that been hurting my hand for days now. So I downloaded the Juggler AddOn. Then I got it on the first try with a good 13 seconds left!

So if you are still trying on this and failing at like juggles, just download the AddOn and be out of your misery :.

Comment by well guess i will put this here.. I keep trying to do the achievement but when I toss the torch to myself it just lands on the floor Anyone encounter this issue Comment by Alphax I did this last year on a warrior, but now I can't get past 37 torches, and I'm wearing my hands out.

Frustrating, when it's the only thing between me and a Violent Protodrake. The problem with that is not everyone wants to download and install it.

This thread I made was to provide a simply way to make the achievement easier for the masses without using any other programs or needing to download something. Anyone who plays WoW can use this simple trick. Again, this is something new I came up with to make things just a bit easier with a very simple trick. I wish more people would reply to this thread with feedback.

Just open the addon in game, and hold your mouse on your char, then just start scrolling with your mouse :P.
