This is another definite maybe. When your car leaves the factory, the surfaces of its engine are clean and highly finished. However, over time, fuel can break down, leaving carbon deposits on the fuel injectors. Deposits can also absorb fuel like a sponge, meaning some of it goes to waste. Exactly how much fuel you can save depends on numerous factors such as your particular car, its maintenance history and your driving style.

Not sure you would get anything even vaguely close to the same improvements in a bog standard modern engine.
Maybe it has to sense the octane level and make some adjustments to the engine management? I used to put some BP ultimate unleaded 95 in my 93 To be fair it actually cost the exact price per miles, as I was doing around kms more per tank with ultimate unleaded than standard petrol.
This is on a fairly high performance 4litre v8 that should be generating bhp. In summary — All current uk production cars will run perfectly well on 95ron, some may benefit from 98ron or higher , but in my experience the differences are marginal. So that makes me buy it happily. Otherwise the mpg improvement for me isnt worth the cost ime. As far as I understand it, running a higher RON allows you to advance the timing slightly.
Therefore if you have advanced the timing and then use the lesser fuel you could cause early detonation and damage to the pistons. I filled up with V-Power last night. I put 5 litres of SVO in the occasional tank of my octavia tdi and it smooths the engine out aswell.
I use normal Shell diesel as the extra mpg makes it cheaper than supermarket fuel. When the prices were much closer p difference I used to put it in my bog standard Golf TDI , gave marginally better economy, enough to justify it. This can occur in the piston assembly, fuel pump and fuel injectors and can cause higher oil consumption, loss of power and higher emissions.
Friction in your engine occurs as piston rings move against cylinder walls, generating heat, wasting energy and reducing the overall efficiency of your engine. Our proprietary technology provides our best protection against friction by filling in the rough spots in your engine, forming a protective layer to help reduce friction and improve efficiency. We test our formulations in industry standard laboratory procedures and bench engines, and in a range of popular vehicles found on the road today.
